Frequently Asked Questions

  • Cooking Indian food is a very involved process. You won’t be able to walk away from the stove or multitask while preparing this meal.

But we’ve worked very hard to boil down the cooking process into easy to follow steps.

Give yourself time to pull the supplies together and adequate time to make this dish (at least the amount of time prescribed in the instructions, or more if you are less comfortable in the kitchen) and be patient with yourself.

The end result will be worth the wait.

    • please store the contents of this meal kit in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook

    • we strongly recommend cooking the contents of this kit within 2-3 days of pickup

  • Since cooking Indian food is time consuming, each meal kit makes 3-4 servings.

The cooked meals can be stored

    • in the refrigerator for up to 3 days

    • in the freezer for up to one month (Indian food freezes really well)

  • All of our recipes include a few spicy ingredients which are labelled as (spicy/optional).

The full spice version of these meal kits is only moderately spicy. If you like a little bit of hot sauce on your food, you will mostly likely be able to handle the spicy ingredients in our meal kits.

If you are hesitant to try the full spice versions of our meal kits, we recommend using only half of the spicy ingredients.

We do not recommend eliminating the spicy ingredients entirely, as they do add flavor to the dish.

For additional information on our spicy ingredients and recommendations on how to control the spiciness, visit our Spice Guide.

While the heat levels can be customized with our meal kits, salt has been added into the Spice Mixes. We know that flavor is subjective so if you find that the dish could use more salt, please feel free to add more.

  • All of our packaging is compostable.

The “plastic” bags are actually made of cellophane, a plant-based material.

If you received a bag that is not marked compostable, please note that the vendor has confirmed that these bags are compostable. They are simply working through an old stock of compostable bags that are not marked as such.

In line with our commitment to compostable packaging, we have chosen not to laminate the recipe instructions.

  • If some sort of disaster occurs and you lose the recipe instructions, fear not!

The recipe instructions are also available on our website. Simply navigate to the relevant product page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the recipe instructions button.

We recommend at least reading through the instructions before making any moves.

If video instructions are more your thing, the QR code on the recipe instructions will take you to the corresponding recipe video.

  • Due to the packaging requirements for raw meat, we do not offer non-vegetarian meal kits at this time.

However, we do plan to begin offering non-vegetarian options in the near future as we begin to scale up our processes.
